History

1950
The medical equipment and special tube divisions of Japan Radio Co., Ltd. became independent and were established as the “Medical Science Research Institute Co., Ltd.”.
1954
The Radiation Measuring Instruments Division was established. Released the DC-1 GM tube measuring instrument.
1957
Started in-house production of GM tubes. Released the low background radiation measuring device.
1958
The company name was changed to "Japan Radio Medical Science Research Institute Co., Ltd."
1959
Released the GM survey meter TGS-101 model.
1960
First released the MBR-1 type GM tube-type contamination inspection device for radiation workers in Japan.
1961
Released the Waste water monitor MWB-1 model.
1964
Developed a monitoring post for nuclear ships.
1966
Released the Liquid scintillation system LSC-601.
1971
Released the low background liquid scintillation system LSC-LB1, thin window gas flow thin layer chromatograph JTC-203, GM survey meter TGS-113, ionization chamber survey meter ICS-151, and scintillation survey meter TSC-212.
1972
Released the MSR-370 series comprehensive radiation monitoring system and the LBC-452U low background radiation measuring device.
1973
Released the whole body counter WBC-R type and gate body surfacemonitor MBR-23, 24 types.
1974
Released the Liquid chromatograph RLC-601 model.
1976
Company name changed to "Aloka Co., Ltd."
1983
Released the Liquid scintillation system LSC-1000.
1984
Released the large-area plastic scintillation detector type body surface monitor, model MBR-36.
1988
Survey meter series updated to SI units.
Released the Radiation monitoring system MSR-500 series.
1989
Released the MYDOSE Mini series, the personal radiation exposure dosimeter that uses a semiconductor detector.
1994
Monitoring posts for monitoring the periphery of nuclear facilities are updated with intelligent functions.
2002
Established the "Iruma Measurement Center", a radiation measuring instrument calibration facility, in Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture.
2004
Released the MSR-3000 series comprehensive radiation monitoring system.
2011
Became a wholly owned subsidiary through a tender offer by Hitachi Medical Corporation, and changed its name to "Hitachi Aloka Medical Co., Ltd."
2014
Fukushima Measurement Center, a radiation measuring instrument calibration facility, established in Fukushima Prefecture.
2015
Released the Survey meter "LUCREST" series.
2016
All divisions other than the manufacturing division were spun off and inherited by Hitachi, Ltd., and the manufacturing division was absorbed into Hitachi Healthcare Manufacturing, Ltd.
The radiation measurement business continued as the Analytical Systems Division of the Healthcare Business Unit of Hitachi, Ltd.
2018
The maintenance department was transferred to Hitachi Healthcare Systems, Ltd.
2020
April: Hitachi Healthcare Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is merged to form the Life Business Headquarters, Healthcare Business Division, Analytical Systems Head quarters.
June: The maintenance department in charge of analytical systems from Hitachi Healthcare Systems Co., Ltd. is merged.
2022
June: Hitachi transfers its radiation measurement business to a new company, which is named 「NIPPON RAYTECH Co.,LTD.」.
2024
January: Company name changed to "Aloka Co., Ltd."
